Product Connection Tips

Below are solutions to the most common questions from TV Voice Pro AIR users. Comprehensive information to all product features are available in the TV Voice Pro product manual.  TV Voice Pro system is pre-paired when it is received.

This is a trouble shooting guide only.

Q1. I am not receiving any TV sound from my headset (when connected via Optical Cable method)

  • If using optical connection, ensure that you have inserted the optical cord ‘fully’ into the back of the TV Voice Pro transmitter. You should hear a ‘click’ when it is inserted correctly. Do not insert the optical cord loosely or you will not receive the correct signal. Please also ensure you have connected firmly into the back of the TV digital output.
  • Ensure the TV Voice Pro Transmitter is switched ON at the back, the TV Voice Pro earphones are switched ON (you should hear the voice prompt “power on” in the earphones when the earphones are on), and the TV switched ON.
  • Ensure the front slider on the transmitter is either in the middle position for “Optical In” connection, or in the left sided position “Audio In” if you have instead connected via an alternative method.
  • Have you accidently connected two cords into the back of the TV Voice Pro transmitter (using both the Optical In cord and Audio In cord)? Please only use ONE method, as the system will not work if you are connected into both inputs at the same time.
  • Have you MUTED the TV audio? This can sometimes stop all audio coming from your TV. Instead put your TV volume down to its lowest setting.
  • If you are using Foxtel, ensure the Volume on the Foxtel Remote control is at MAXIMUM. You must then use your regular TV remote control to adjust the volume of your TV (most people reduce the volume to the level that others in the house like to listen to TV, or alternatively if you are watching TV alone, you can turn your TV volume right down).
  • Check the LED indicator lights on the earphones- if they are flashing blue and red you are not connected to the transmitter. They should flash blue.

Q2. I am not receiving any TV sound from my headset (when using the RED and WHITE Audio output cable /RCA cable method)

  • If you are connecting to your TV via RED and WHITE/RCA audio OUT, you may have accidently connected to an Audio IN instead. These red and white holes look the same. However, it must be an audio OUT to receive audio signal.
  • If you cannot locate Digital/Optical Audio Out option. then instead look for red and white audio OUT holes.
  • Ensure the TV Voice Pro Transmitter is switched ON at the back, the TV Voice Pro earphones are switched ON (you should hear the voice prompt “power on…connected” in the earphones when the earphones are on), and the TV switched ON.

Q3. I can only hear some channels and not others? How do I resolve this?

  • This occasionally happens on NetFlix or Cable Television. This is simply fixed by checking your audio settings on your TV, or if you have instead connected to your Foxtel box, you simply use the Foxtel remote to adjust the Audio Settings within Foxtel. Within your TV, go to your Audio settings, select Audio format/ or Audio language, or similar descriptor. Change to PCM, MPEG. Do not use Dolby Digital.
  • CABLE TV  Go into the audio settings in your Pay TV set Top Box and change from AC3 to MPEG

Q4.  The TV audio is cut off for everyone else in the room.

  • This happens if you use the headphone jack option. Please do not use the headphone jack option unless your TV supports this method without cutting out the TV audio for others in the room.
  • Better sound quality is also expected by using either the Digital Optical or Red and White/RCA connection method. Please utilise one of these connection methods where possible. You can then listen to TV in your headset without affecting the volume for others in the room.

Q5. The volume in the headset is not loud enough, even when at full volume.

  • If you use a Foxtel or Austar remote, make sure that the volume is on maximum. Then use your TV remote to adjust the volume of the TV speakers if need be.
  • Now use the volume control on the TV Voice Pro earphones panel to increase the volume to your preferred volume. The volume capacity is up to 110dB which will work for those even with a severe degree of hearing loss.
  • If you have connected through the headphone jack, we recommend connecting through an Optical or Red/White RCA port for additional volume.

Q6. Can I use two TV Voice Pro headsets on the one TV?

  • Yes. Please call us to order an additional headset. You will receive instructions on how to pair the additional headset to your existing TV Voice Pro transmitter.

Q7. Can I connect two TV Voice Pro systems to one TV?

  • This is simple. Please call us to purchase a powered splitter which will enable use of two completely separate TV Voice Pro systems on your TV.

Q8. I am already using the audio outputs on the back of my TV for other products. Can I still use the TV Voice Pro system?

  • A simple splitter can be purchased from us to solve this issue and allow you to connect multiple products to your TV at the same time.

Q9. My TV doesn’t have an Audio OUTPUT, or only has a COAXIAL output.

  • Please call us on 1300 300 446 and we will rectify this for you. Please have the model number of your TV ready. Alternatively, you can connect directly to the back of your Foxtel or Austar box using the Optical Connection method.

Questions related specifically to coloured LED lights on the transmitter and pairing to the transmitter.

Q10. What is the star symbol on the transmitter?

  • TV Voice Pro Air comes pre-set and paired ready to use when purchased. The star symbol on the transmitter allows you to put the transmitter into pairing function. This is only necessary if you wish to add an extra pair of earphones to your system. Simply hold the slider across to the right where the star symbol is shown and the transmitter will begin to flash blue and red and enter pairing mode. You can now pair your extra pair of earphones to the transmitter.

Q11. Why is the headset light red and blue and flashing?

  • The headset is not receiving audio signal from the transmitter. When the earphones are receiving audio the middle control panel on the earphones will flash blue. You will also receive the voice prompt “power on… Connected” when you first turn the earphones on.
  • Check the transmitter is correctly connected to the TV, using a connection method found in Step 2 of the Easy Set Up Guide.
  • Check answers to “I am not receiving any TV sound from my headset” above.
